Note: we have to stick to the contract requirements. The contract requires some research activity that leads to products significantly beyond the current state of the art.

1 Meta-format for tests

Concept of meta-format for running tests: meta-testing framework. For instance we must be able to run unit tests in various environment.

• See the test section in debian
• Do we add a test section in the RPM spec?
• We could have a /usr/share/test/ like /usr/share/doc. For each package: have rpm.test. and run tests in /usr/test
• we can focus on single machine tests, not on networked clients (this is not a requirement)

Note: it is important to get testing results quickly

Test set

• xml file
• preconfiguration for target
• shell scripts

rpm -ba already runs unit tests (for gcc for instance)

Statistics on errors when packaging

Community can get involved for

• testing variety of hardware
• manuel tests (hearing sound box etc.)
