EDOS WP6 - Report D6.2

First International Conference on Open Source Systems

On behalf of the whole EDOS consortium, Paris 7, Mandriva, University of Geneva and INRIA EDOS teams took part in the First International Conference on Open Source Systems, in Genova, 11-15 July 2005. A presentation of the current state of the project was held during a session on the topic of tools dedicated to open-source software engineering. The presentation was the occasion to present EDOS approach and the libraries that have already been developed within WP2, the global architecture of the distribution workpackage, and the testing framework sketch. Around 150 people took part in the conference. Approximately 30 from them were present in the EDOS session. EDOS paper has been included in the conference proceedings, and the slides as well as the paper are available on the conference's web site, at following URL: http://oss2005.case.unibz.it/accepted.html#EDOS and on EDOS web site, within the scientific articles section at following URL: http://www.edos-project.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Articles

Collaboration with University of Illinois

In the frame of the joint research opportunity between the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Information Society Technologies (IST), EDOS consortium has decided to submit a collaboration proposal with the US ITR project titled "Organizational Dynamics of Software Problems, Bugs, Failures, and Repairs" led by the University of Illinois. As of September 2005, the proposal is being assessed by both CISE-ITR and IST committees. If accepted, the research projects would team up for creating a common ontology describing open-source software engineering. This collaboration would also extend the audience of EDOS tooling and ease its dissemination.

Journées GEMO 2005

EDOS project was presented to INRIA researchers on the occasion of "Journées GEMO 2005" organized by the INRIA GEMO research group in June. The slides that have been presented are available at this URL.

Vertigo group - June 2005

A short presentation of EDOS project was given at CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers) for the database research group Vertigo in June 2005.
