The EC is asking us to look at the following EC project:

"The goal of the GORDA project is to foster database replication as a means to address the challenges of trust, integration, performance, and cost in current database systems underlying the information society. This is to be achieved by standardizing architecture and interfaces, and by sparking their usage with a comprehensive set of components ready to be deployed."

On top of University of Minho, Portugal, GORDA counts MySQL and INRIA Sardes team (E.Cecchet) among its participants. At this stage of the project I'm not able to see exactly how GORDA compares with the DB approach that will be carried out within WP4, but GORDA project manager, Rui Oliveira, is willing to have information from us as quickly as possible to identify possible common tasks. Our contact is Rui Oliveira, rco@diuminho.pt, project manager. Rui would welcome a technical presentation of what we intend to do on the DBMS side. He will send us a technical presentation of their view.
