First Wp5 conf call
25 November 05, at 14h00 (Paris time)
Participants: Stefania, Marc, Michel, Paulo, Radu.
On the agenda:
- current state of the deliverable
- brainstorming on Customization
- organize the State of the Art
- what do we have to improve in the next phase
- short plan for the next week
Discussions on topics:
- State of the art and Bibliography
- good updates
- keep contact with BRR community (Paulo)
- try to place EDOS related viewpoints into a larger view (like OSMM, for instance)
- stick to the main topics required
- Complexity
- new links on the Bibliography, added by Marc: LOCC, MetricsTheTool, Cyclo, etc.
- already got in contact with Wp2 (Fabio)
- see "degree of dependency" and "cluster analysis" from Wp2 work
- use EDOSLib for the statistics and for defining metrics
- Customization
- updates on wiki by Marc
- apparently, the notion of "virtual packages" doesn't fit the topic
- we identified two aspects for the customization:
- before the install process (preparing a customized distribution ready to install)
- during installation and after (the customization levels offered by the installer/distribution)
- Production + PMI
- the testing processes (see Wp3 also) are part of the production processes
- we have to define and organize the production processes
- Michel proposed to aggregate the production processes into three viewpoints: (to be further detailed)
- 1.Production
- 2.Liveness (developers/community interactions)
- 3.Community
- the general PMI will be completely described outside the scope of the report
- we'll define the PMI for the metrics to be plugged into the general PMI
- metrics PMI can use the RDF Schema model for the indicators in order to give a formal description of the metrics framework
- Diffusion
- we'll identify P2P measures from the Bibliography papers and the P2P proposed architecture
- current indicators - to be reevaluated and polished
- define mappings between the characteristics/indicators associated to the current architecture and to the P2P one
General decisions:
- use Jabber client for Instant Messaging
- increase the interactions with Wp2 and Wp4
- follow the project's description
